way2barak, Sept.16: The Government of Assam in tune with policies of NEP 2020, in principle, has upgraded 215 High Schools to Higher Secondary Schools and the preparatory process to up-grade another 785 High Schools to Higher Secondary Schools is underway. This was stated by Education Minister Dr Ranoj Pegu, while replying to a question raised by MLA Sirajuddin Ajmal during the autumn session of the Assam Legislative Assembly on Friday.
The minister further stated, “In the initial stage, upgradation had been considered based on the availability of infrastructure, logistic, manpower and in few cases where minimum support on need base will be required. In the said process, the operationalisation of classes will be looked into specifically at the District Level and the State Level and the administrative machineries will be geared up to support the operationalisation of the classes.”
