21 tests COVID-19 +ve in Cachar on Saturday
At present there are 154 active cases in Cachar district
April 17: On Saturday, 21 new cases of COVID-19 was reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 1,466 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, a total of 14 persons were found positive, whereas 07 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Saturday night. It needs mention here that 12 persons tested positive in Cachar on Friday.
With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 11,703. Further, a total of 11,511 patients were discharged in the district as of now. At present,15 patients are admitted at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH), 06 at green Heals Pvt Hospital, 03 at MH, whereas, 130 others are in home isolation. There are 154 active cases in Cachar district.
Further, the district health authorities appealed to the public to maintain COVID appropriate behaviour like use of face masks in public places, maintain social distancing, hand hygiene and coughing etiquette like covering of mouth and nose while coughing. Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed stated that by following these steps we can help prevent the break out of the second wave of COVID-19.
