2054 patients discharged in Assam on Wednesday
August 19: On Wednesday, 2054 patients of coronavirus were discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care Centres in Assam. With this, 60,348 patients got cured and subsequently discharged in the state. In a tweet, State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “”2054 patients discharged today Heartening to see more than 2K discharges in a day! Medical team deserves many applauds.”
Also, 2116 persons tested COVID-19 positive in Assam on Wednesday. With this, the state tally of coronavirus cases has gone upto 84,317, out of which, 25,807 are active. Cachar district alone registered 190 new positive cases during the day. Further, 10 more persons succumbed to COVID-19 in Assam, thereby taking the death tally of the state to 213.
