204 detected Covid +ve in Cachar till 6 PM on Sunday, 108 discharged & 1 death at SMCH

Active cases 3,434 in Cachar

May 30: A total of 204 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 6 PM on Sunday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 3,279 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, 201 were found positive, whereas 03 more was detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Suman Choudhury, District Media Expert on Sunday evening. Also, 108 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Saturday, 513 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar. At present, there are 3,434 active cases in Cachar district.

Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 29 May to 5 PM on 30 May) witnessed demise of only 01 Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. The detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. The deceased from Cachar was identified as:

  • Anwar Hussain Laskar (34) from Krishnapur in Cachar district was admitted at SMCH on 29 May. He died at 8.35 PM on 29 May, 2021.
