20 tests +ve in Cachar on Tuesday, district tally rises to 10,575

Active cases 176 in Cachar

Nov. 10: On Tuesday, a total of 20 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 1832 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, 19 persons were found positive, whereas 01 person was detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Tuesday night.

With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 10,575. Further, a total of 10,362 patients were discharged in the district as of now. Cachar registered a total of 37 COVID-19 deaths till now. At present, there are 176 active cases in the district. It needs mention here that 32 persons were found positive in Cachar on Monday.

In his daily briefing, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) on Tuesday said that in the last 24 hours, Throat swab of another 560 persons were collected. 503 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, out of which, 09 of them tested positive. Further, 632 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done at SMCH in the last 24 hours, out of which, 06 were found positive.

Apart from this, 04 new patients of COVID-19 were admitted at SMCH in the last 24 hours and 02 were discharged. At present, there are 27 active patients at SMCH, out of which, 12 are admitted in ICU and 02 were kept under ventilation support. Apart from this, 03 patients are being administered oxygen. Further, 258 persons have donated plasma which was administered upon 487 patients.

Dr. Gupta further informed that in the last 24 hours, none died due to COVID-19 at SMCH. As of now, there were 174 COVID related deaths in SMCH. Of the 174 deaths, 63 of them were certified by the State Death Audit Board as COVID-19 confirmed deaths.
