2 students of 2017 batch from NIT Silchar qualify UPSC Civil Services
May 30: What seems to be a matter of immense pride for Barak Valley is that two former students of NIT SIlchar cracked the civil service examinations conducted by UPSC, the results for which was declared on Monday. Both of them are female and were students of the 2017 batch of ‘Electrical Branch’ and ‘Electronics & Communication branch’ of NIT, Silchar. Out of the two, one is from Lala in Hailakandi district whereas the other one is also from Assam.
The two alumni of NIT, Silchar who cracked the civil services examinations are:
- Shilpa Kanikar, All India Rank (AIR) 506
- Ayushi Kalwar, All India Rank (AIR) 618
It’s indeed a big achievement for Barak Valley. Ayushi Kalwar from Lala in Hailakandi cracked UPSC, the results for which was declared on Monday. Ayushi Kalwar secured rank 618. Ayushi is the daughter of Lakshmi Nivas Kalwar and Asha Kalwar. Her father Lakshmi Nivas Kalwar is the Principal in-charge of Chal Mars HS School, Katlicherra. It needs mention here that Ayushi Kalwar’s elder sister Jagriti Kalwar cracked APSC in 2018 and is now posted as Election Officer in Karimganj.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the final results for the UPSC Civil Services exam 2021 on May 30. This year, all the top four positions have been secured by female candidates. Shruti Sharma has secured All India Rank (AIR) 1.
