2 more policemen injured in firing by Mizo forces airlifted to Guwahati on Wednesday
July 28: Around 50 policemen were injured in firing by Mizo forces and Mizo miscreants on Monday at Lailapur in Assam- Mizoram border. In the incident, 5 policemen lost their lives. Another policeman succumbed to the bullet injury on Tuesday. Superintendent of Police, Cachar was airlifted to Mumbai on Tuesday after being bullet embedded in the incident. Two more policemen, Asit Das and Gopeswar Singha were also airlifted for better treatment in Guwahati on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, two more policemen who were in critical condition were taken by air ambulance to Guwahati. They are Ranji Chouhan and Nogen Mech. Both of them were admitted at Silchar Medical College & Hospital on Monday. The last Air ambulance departed from Silchar Airport at 6 PM on Wednesday. Apart from them, around 30 plus policemen injured in the Mizo attack were undergoing treatment at SMCH.
