2 more grocery shops shut at Fatak Bazar for not maintaining price list and stock list
May 26: Cachar District Administration has been regularly deputing inspection teams to various markets and shops to curb the menace of artificial price hike and maintenance of proper stock position. In the wake of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, there were reports of some businessmen involved in selling commodities at a rate higher than the usual price.
Strict supervision is being maintained on the markets and random checking is being carried out by the officials of FCS and CA Department to ensure that prices of essential commodities are under control. During regular inspection by the officials deputed by the district administration for this purpose, discrepancies were found and immediate action was taken. During the surprise check on Wednesday, 2 grocery shops at Fatak Bazar, Silchar were closed down for non maintenance of the Price and Stock Board. The shops of one Ranu Roy and Ripon Paul at Fatak Bazar, Silchar were closed.
Earlier, on 24 May, a Fair Price Shop dealer of Kathal Road, Silchar town, Ward no 17 was detected of not to maintain stock and price board. The shop was also closed down. A few days ago, two grocery shops at Silchar Court Bazar Road in Sadarghat has been closed for not maintaining Price Board and Stock board. These two shops were: Modern Store: Owner- Tayabur Rahman Choudhury and R.S.Enterprise: Owner- Bahahul lslam.
