2 more Covid +ve patients die in last 24 hours at SMCH, 2 in ventilator support
13 in oxygen support out of 41 active cases at SMCH on Tuesday
Jan. 18: There has been a gradual rise in the number of daily positive cases in Cachar district. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 17 January to 5 PM on 18 January) witnessed the death of 02 Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Tuesday evening.
The The deceased were identified as:
- Haradhan Goswami (70) from Monacherra in Hailakandi district tested Covid positive and was admitted at SMCH on 17 January (12.30 AM). The patient, however, breathed his last at 8.45 PM on the same day, that is, on 17 January, 2022. He was suffering from acute coronary syndrome, diabetes, hypertension & pneumonia.
- Rina Choudhury (56) from Irongmara in Cachar district tested Covid positive and was also admitted at SMCH on 17 January (3.45 PM). The patient, however, died at 9.45 PM the same night, that is, on 17 January, 2022. She was suffering from acute coronary syndrome, diabetes, hypertension & chronic kidney disease.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 18 January, there were 41 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, 02 patients were put under ventilator support, and 13 in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 11 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 10 were discharged.
