2 Covid-19 patients die at Silchar Medical College on Thursday
82 patients in ICU, 22 in ventilator support & 141 put under oxygen at SMCH
June 10: Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 9 June to 5 PM on 10 June) witnessed demise of 02 Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. Both of them are from Cachar district. The deceased were identified as:
- Ganga Prasad Dhobi (75) from Kamranga Part-II in Cachar was admitted at SMCH on 6 June. He, however, passed away at 7.40 AM on 10 June.
- Deb Charan Ree (58) from Darangkhal in Cachar took admission at SMCH on 7 June. He breathed his last at 2.30 PM on 10 June.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 10 June, there were 213 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 82 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 131 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 22 patients were put under ventilator support and 141 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 32 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 30 of them were discharged. Further, 17 of them have opted for home isolation.
