1 Covid patient die at SMCH on Tuesday
64 patients in ICU, 13 in ventilator support & 86 put under oxygen at SMCH
June 22: Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 21 June to 5 PM on 22 June) witnessed demise of 01 Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. The detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. The deceased is from Cachar district. The deceased was identified as:
- Anil Kumar Sinha (68) from Bekirpar, Kabuganj in Cachar district was admitted at SMCH on 20 June. The patient, however, passed away at 8.10 AM on 22 June.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 22 June, there were 114 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 64 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 50 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 13 patients were put under ventilator support and 86 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 22 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 29 of them were discharged.
