1st death registered in Hailakandi in the 3rd wave of Covid

Jan. 18: On Tuesday, Hailakandi registered 78 (76 RAT & 02 RT-PCR) new COVID-19 cases. The district has altogether has 496 active COVID-19 cases. During the day, 895 RAT tests and 45 RT-PCR tests were done. 99 patients were discharged during the day. With this, the district tally of Covid cases has now reached 8,775 (both 1st & 2nd wave).

As of now, a total of 4,571 patients were discharged. It needs mention here that 90 persons were found positive in Hailakandi on Monday. Till date, 52 persons died due to Covid-19 in Hailakandi district.  A total of 1,978 persons were vaccinated on Tuesday.

Further, one patient from Hailakandi died during the last 24 hours. This is the first death in the district in the third wave of Covid. The deceased was identified as:

1. Haradhan Goswami (70) from Monacherra in Hailakandi district tested Covid positive and was admitted at SMCH on 17 January (12.30 AM). The patient, however, breathed his last at 8.45 PM on the same day, that is, on 17 January, 2022. He was suffering from acute coronary syndrome, diabetes, hypertension & pneumonia.
