1980 tests +ve in Assam on Sunday including 107 in Cachar

August 30: On Sunday, 1980 persons tested novel coronavirus positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of COVID-19 cases has now gone upto 1,05,774, out of which, 22,965 are active cases. During the day, Cachar district registered 107 fresh cases. In a tweet, State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Alert ~ 1980 #COVID cases detected today out of 34102 tests done in last 24 hours Positivity Rate- 5.80% Kamrup M- 453, Nagaon- 239, Jorhat- 134, Cachar- 107.”

Further, 7 more persons died due to COVID-19 in Assam. With this, the death tally of the state has now gone upto 296.
