198 grams heroin seized in Hmarkhawlien, one arrested

way2barak, August 27: On the basis of reliable source an auto rickshaw bearing registration number AS11DC8510 was intercepted at Hmarkhawlien under Lakhipur Police Station coming from Manipur. During thorough search 15 soap boxes containing suspected to be heroin have been recovered and weighted 198.01gm and hence seized accordingly as per procedure. In this connection a person namely Abdul Sahid (32yrs), resident of Lalpani part-ii, Jirighat, Cachar, has been apprehended.Further investigation into has been on, informs Numal Mahatta, SP Cachar. He says that the price of the narcotics substance in the black market is about Rs. 1 crore.
