19 detected Covid +ve till 6 PM in Cachar on Monday, 3 deaths at SMCH
Aug 9: A total of 19 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 6 PM on Monday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 8,509 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done in which 19 were found positive, whereas till the filing of this reports, the results of RT-PCR test were not made available. It needs mention here that 24 persons were detected Covid-19 positive on Sunday.
The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. However, the last 24 hours (5 PM on 8 August to 5 PM on 9 August) witnessed the death of 03 Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Monday evening. The deceased were identified as:
- Meena Begum (45) from Ashimganj in Karimganj district was admitted at SMCH on 7 August, 2021. She, however, breathed her last at 6.30 PM on 8 August, 2021.
- Rakhal Rudra Paul (43) from Fatikrai in North Tripura took admission at SMCH also on 7 August. He died at 8.30 PM on 8 August, 2021.
- Sarala Goswami (75) from Ailabari in Karimganj district got admitted at SMCH on 8 August. She passed away at 9 AM on 9 August.
Dr. Bhaskar Gupta further informed that till 5 PM of 9 August, a total of 55 active coronavirus patients are admitted at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH), out of which, 19 of them are in Covid ward and 36 at ICU. Out of them 41 patients are in oxygen support and 02 are in ventilation. In last 24 hours, 10 new patients were admitted whereas, 13 of them were discharged at SMCH.
