19 detected Covid +ve till 6 PM in Cachar on Friday, 2 deaths at SMCH
Aug 6: A total of 19 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 6 PM on Friday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 4,041 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done in which 17 were found positive, whereas only 02 persons were detected positive in RT-PCR test. It needs mention here that 45 persons were detected Covid-19 positive on Thursday.
The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. However, the last 24 hours (5 PM on 5 August to 5 PM on 6 August) witnessed the death of 02 Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Friday evening. The deceased were identified as:
- Sunahar Ali Laskar (60) from Madhurbond in Cachar district was admitted at SMCH on 1 August, 2021. He, however, breathed his last at 5.15 PM on 5 August, 2021.
- Suma Roy (31) from Lala in Hailakandi district was admitted at SMCH also on 5 August. She died at 11.15 PM on 5 August, 2021.
Dr. Bhaskar Gupta further informed that till 5 PM of 6 August, a total of 61 active coronavirus patients are admitted at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH), out of which, 25 of them are in Covid ward and 36 at ICU. Out of them 45 patients are in oxygen support and 04 are in ventilation. In last 24 hours, 09 new patients were admitted whereas, 10 of them were discharged at SMCH.
