1844 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Sunday, 14 deaths registered
April 25: On Sunday, out of 33,674 tests, 1,844 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 2,37,533. The positivity rate in the state is 5.48 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 791 positive cases during the day. During the day, 14 more persons lost their lives in the state due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 1,200. This is the highest single-day deaths recorded in Assam in 2021.
It needs mention here that on Saturday, 2,236 persons tested positive in Assam and 14 deaths were registered.
On Sunday, 558 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 2,19,516 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam. The recovery rate in the state is 92.41%.

Further, during the day, 14 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19, the highest single day figures in the state this year. Out of the 14 deceased, 08 are from Kamrup Metro, and 1 each from Barpeta, Dibrugarh, Kamrup Rural, Morigaon, Nalbari & Sonitpur. The death tally of the state now stands at 1,200.
