17 more fatalities registered in Assam due COVID-19, death toll rises to 528
Sept. 17: On Thursday, 17 more persons died in Assam due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll of the state has now gone upto 528. In a tweet on Thursday night, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Very sad & anguished to inform that 17 more COVID19 positive patients have succumbed to the disease. My condolences to all the families. We stand by you in this hour of grief.” The deceased were identified as:

- Bhadreswar Das (62), Tarun Borah (78) & Mahidhar Koch (75) of Sonitpur
- Jagat Ch Borah (74) & Ratneswar Medhi (69) of Kamrup Metro
- Pabindra Nath Sarma (79) of Darrang
- Hafizur Hague (52) of Dhubri
- Dineswar Deka (69), Manju Hmatsingka (71), Naren Ch Das (73), Sukanta Roy (65) & Poonam Kumari Prasad (37) of Kamrup
- Ramkali Devi (71) of Tinsukia
- Dhirendra Kr Sinha (76) of Cachar
- Chitra Das (50) & Kanak Ch Deury (63) of Baksa
