17 detected Covid +ve till 6 PM in Cachar on Wednesday
Aug 4: A total of 17 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 6 PM on Wednesday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 5,700 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done in which all 17 were found positive, whereas till the filing of this report, the results of RT-PCR test was not made available. It needs mention here that 37 persons were detected Covid-19 positive on Tuesday.
The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 3 August to 5 PM on 4 August) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Wednesday evening.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 4 August, there were 59 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 25 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 24 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 08 patients were put under ventilator support and 46 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 16 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 14 of them were discharged.
