163 students from Delhi & 24 cancer patients from Chennai returns to Assam in 7 buses
May 13: State Health Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet informed that, 6 buses from Delhi with 163 students onboard & one bus from Chennai with 24 cancer patients & attendants have arrived in Guwahati on Wednesday. They were received at Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati by the Minister along with Minister of State Pijush Hazarika, Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary and other officials.
Sarma also informed that after receiving them, he discussed with them the 14-day mandatory quarantine process which they need to observe now. During a press briefing on Tuesday, Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that strict quarantine will be a must for people returning from other parts of India amid the easing of lockdown restrictions.
