1,621 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Friday, 1,869 discharged & 15 deaths registered
There are 14,595 active Covid cases in Assam
July 23: On Friday, out of 1,47,175 tests, 1,621 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 5,55,842. The positivity rate in the state is 1.10 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 188 positive cases during the day. Further, on Friday, 15 more persons lost their lives in the state due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 5,091. The recovery rate is 96.22 percent.
It needs mention here that on Thursday, 1,796 persons tested positive in Assam and 22 deaths were registered.
On Friday, 1,869 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 5,34,809 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam. The recovery rate in the state is 96.22 percent. At present, there are 14,595 active cases in the state.

Further, during the day, 15 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19. Out of the 15 deceased, 03 are from Golaghat, 02 each from Golaghat & Sivasagar; 01 each from Baksa, Charaideo, Chirang, Kamrup metro, Karimganj, Kokhrajhar, Nagaon & Tinsukia. The death tally of the state now stands at 5,091.
