16 tests +ve in Cachar on Friday, tally reaches 11,072

Active cases 113 in Cachar

Dec. 11: On Friday, a total of 16 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 1359 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, 16 persons were found positive, whereas none were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Friday night.

With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 11,072. Further, a total of 10,922 patients were discharged in the district as of now. Cachar registered a total of 37 COVID-19 deaths till now. At present, there are 113 active cases in the district. It needs mention here that 24 persons were found positive in Cachar on Thursday.

In his daily briefing, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) on Friday said that in the last 24 hours, Throat swab of another 228 persons were collected. 445 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, out of which, none tested positive. Further, 537 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done at SMCH in the last 24 hours, out of which, 03 were found positive.

Apart from this, 05 new patient of COVID-19 were admitted at SMCH in the last 24 hours and none were discharged. At present, there are 14 active patients at SMCH, out of which 01 is in critical stage. A total of 07 patients are admitted in ICU, whereas 05 of them are put under oxygen support and 01 kept in ventilator support. Dr. Gupta further informed that in the last 24 hours, no patients died due to COVID-19 at SMCH.
