16 more deaths due to COVID-19 registered in Assam, toll reaches 469

Sept. 13: Sunday witnessed 16 more deaths due to COVID-19 in Assam. With this, the death tally of the state has now gone upto 469. In a tweet on Sunday night, State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Very sad & anguished to inform that 16 more COVID19 positive patients have succumbed to the disease. My condolences to all the families. We stand by you in this hour of grief.” It needs mention here that Assam recorded its biggest single day spike of 23 deaths on Saturday.

The deceased were identified as:

• Abdul Mannan Ali (43), Gopal Krishna Bordoloi (74), Bidyawati Gogoi (67) & Md Phulki Ali (77) of Sivasagar
• Prafulla Gogoi (78) & Swarupa Nanda Konwar (84) of Tinsukia
• Nanda Kanta Gogoi (78), Jaydeb Kalita (60), Rekha Biswas (70) & Saraj Kumar Dutta (85) of Kamrup Metro
• Lukeswar Bora (70) of Golaghat & Bijit Bora (52) of Golaghat
• Dilip Dutta (52) & Krishna Bashtola (54) of Sonitpur
• Barada Devi (68) of Nalbari
• Gul Mohammad SK (62) of Dhubri
