Active cases 45 in Cachar, 2 discharged on Tuesday

Oct. 19: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Tuesday at 11.10 PM. As per the latest data, a total of 16 persons were found positive in the district on 19 October. Also, 02 patients were discharged during the day. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 45. This was informed by District Media Expert on Tuesday night.  It needs mention here that on Monday, 05 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

As per the updated data, a total of 1,929 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 08 persons were found positive, whereas 08 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 20,179 whereas during this phase, 19,918 patients were discharged.

Apart from this, the district authority informed that out of the 45 active patients:

07 of them are admitted at SMCH
03 at MH
00 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
00 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
35 patients are in home isolation.

The Covid-19 situation in Cachar is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 18 October to 5 PM on 19 October) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Tuesday evening.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 19 October, there were 09 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, no patient was put under ventilator support, and 02 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 02 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and none of them were discharged.
