15 detected Covid +ve till 6 PM in Cachar on Friday, 19 discharged
Active cases 184 in Cachar
Aug 13: A total of 15 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 6 PM on Friday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 6,020 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done in which 13 persons were found positive, whereas only 02 persons were detected as positive in RT-PCR test. Also, 19 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged.
At present, there are 186 active cases in the district. It needs mention here that 29 persons were detected Covid-19 positive on Friday. Further, during the day, 5,049 persons were administered Covid vaccine in Cachar. With this, a total of 5,70,341 persons in the district were vaccinated as of now.
The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 12 August to 5 PM on 13 August) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Friday evening.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 13 August, there were 50 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 24 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 26 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 02 patients were put under ventilator support and 32 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 04 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 08 of them were discharged.
