142 detected Covid +ve in Cachar till 6 PM on Tuesday, 155 discharged & 1 death at SMCH
Active cases 1,688 in Cachar on Wednesday
June 22: A total of 142 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 6 PM on Tuesday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 20,882 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done in which 131 were found positive, whereas 11 were detected positive in RT-PCR test. This was informed by DIPRO Cachar on Tuesday evening. Also, 155 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged. As of now, there are 1,688 active cases in the district. It needs mention here that 181 persons were detected Covid-19 positive on Monday.
Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 21 June to 5 PM on 22 June) witnessed demise of 01 Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. The detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. The deceased is from Cachar district. The deceased was identified as:
- Anil Kumar Sinha (68) from Bekirpar, Kabuganj in Cachar district was admitted at SMCH on 20 June. The patient, however, passed away at 8.10 AM on 22 June.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 22 June, there were 114 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 64 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 50 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 13 patients were put under ventilator support and 86 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 22 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 29 of them were discharged.
