14 new corona cases detected; tally rises to 2,853 in Hailakandi district

18 Sept : 14 fresh COVID-19 positive cases have been reported from South Assam’s Hailakandi district on Friday, taking the total tally to 2,853. Health authorities here disclosed that of the 14 positive cases, eight have been detected under the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).

Altogether 1,590 cases have been found positive under RAT with over 50 per cent without travel history. 2,602 persons on being cured have been released from hospitals.The number of active cases is 232. Eight COVID-19 positive patients have breathed their last at Silchar Medical College and Hospital. 11 deaths at SMC&H have been declared as ‘non-COVID’ by the State level Death Audit Board. 91 COVID-19 asymptomatic persons are under home isolation.

Of the 24,391 swab samples taken, 21,919 have tested negative. Swab results of 329 persons are awaited. 40-45 mobile medical teams have fanned out to different parts of the district.
