14 found Covid +ve in Cachar on 7 December

Active cases 37 in Cachar, 8 discharged

Dec. 7: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Tuesday at 10.30 PM. As per the latest data, 14 persons were found positive in the district on 7 December. Also, 08 patients were discharged during the day. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 37. It needs mention here that on Monday, 09 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

As per the updated data, a total of 1,785 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 09 persons were found positive, whereas 05 were detected positive out of 282 RT-PCR Tests. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 20,455 whereas during this phase, 20,202 patients were discharged.

Suman Choudhury, District Media Expert informed, “Four persons having travel history to foreign countries have been tested COVID POSITIVE in RT-PCR test at SMCH. Three of them belong to Karimganj and have travel history to Saudi Arabia and one from Cachar who has travel history from Finland. The persons from Karimganj have been isolated in their own district and the person from Cachar at SMCH. Their sample has been sent to National Institute of Biomedical Genomics for genom sequencing, as to rule out Omicron.”

The last 24 hours (5 PM on 6 December to 5 PM on 7 December) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Tuesday evening.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 7 December, there were 07 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, 01 patient was put under ventilator support, and 02 were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 01 Covid positive patient was admitted at SMCH and 02 of them were discharged.
