1,276 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Wednesday, 1,791 discharged & 21 deaths registered
There are 13,152 active Covid cases in Assam
July 28: On Wednesday, out of 1,12,332 tests, 1,276 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 5,62,731. The positivity rate in the state is 1.14 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 161 positive cases during the day. Further, on Wednesday, 21 more persons lost their lives in the state due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 5,201. The recovery rate is 96.50 percent.
It needs mention here that on Tuesday, 1,436 persons tested positive in Assam and 18 deaths were registered.
On Wednesday, 1,791 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 5,43,031 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam. The recovery rate in the state is 96.50 percent. At present, there are 13,152 active cases in the state.

Further, during the day, 21 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19. Out of the 21 deceased, 04 are from Jorhat; 03 from Golaghat; 02 each from Kamrup Rural & Karbi Anglong; 01 each for Bongaigaon, Cachar, Dhubri, Dibrugarh, Hojai, Kamrup Metro, Lakhimpur, Sivasagar, Sonitpur and Tinsukia. The death tally of the state now stands at 5,201.
