120 tests Covid +ve in Hailakandi on Thursday, 20 discharged, 1 death registered
The district has altogether 957 active COVID-19 cases.
May 27: Hailakandi registered 120 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday. Of the 120 positive cases detected on Thursday, 118 have been found positive under Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and 02 found positive in RT-PCR test. The district has altogether 957 active COVID-19 cases. During the day, 1,832 RAT tests and 402 RT-PCR tests were done. 20 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that 149 persons were found positive in Hailakandi on Wednesday. With this, the district tally of Covid cases has now reached 5,726.
As of now, in the 52,152 persons have received the 1st dose of the vaccine (irrespective of age), whereas, 16,095 have been administered the 2nd dose in Hailakandi district.
Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours witnessed demise of 08 more Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board as per the protocol. Out of the 08 deceased, 06 are from Cachar district, 01 from Karimganj & 01 from Hailakandi. The deceased from Hailakandi was identified as:
- Lutfur Nahar (47) from Narayanpur in Hailakandi got admitted at SMCH on 25 May. She passed away at 8.15 PM on 26 May.
