12 tests +ve in Cachar on Sunday, district tally rises to 10,537
Active cases 170 in Cachar
Nov. 7: On Sunday, a total of 21 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 630 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, 09 persons were found positive, whereas 03 persons were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Sunday night.
With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 10,537. Further, a total of 10,328 patients were discharged in the district as of now. Cachar registered a total of 37 COVID-19 deaths till now. At present, there are 170 active cases in the district. It needs mention here that 11 persons were found positive in Cachar on Sunday.
In his daily briefing, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) on Sunday said that in the last 24 hours, Throat swab of another 384 persons were collected. 412 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, out of which, 10 of them tested positive. Further, 147 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done at SMCH in the last 24 hours, out of which, 01 were found positive.
Apart from this, 03 new patients of COVID-19 were admitted at SMCH in the last 24 hours and 02 were discharged. At present, there are 21 active patients at SMCH, out of which, 12 are admitted in ICU and none were in ventilation support. Further, 258 persons have donated plasma which was administered upon 487 patients.
Dr. Gupta further informed that in the last 24 hours, 01 person from Cachar died due to COVID-19 at SMCH. As of now, there were 174 COVID related deaths in SMCH. Of the 174 deaths, 63 of them were certified by the State Death Audit Board as COVID-19 confirmed deaths.
