12 tests Covid +ve in Hailakandi on Friday, 7 discharged & 1 death registered

Aug 6: Hailakandi registered 12 new COVID-19 cases on Friday. Of the 12 positive cases detected on Friday, 10 of them were found positive under Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) whereas 02 persons were detected positive in RT-PCR test. The district has altogether 58 active COVID-19 cases. During the day, 1,214 RAT tests and 144 RT-PCR tests were done. 07 patients were discharged during the day. With this, the district tally of Covid cases has now reached 7,824 (both 1st & 2nd wave).

As of now, a total of 4,341 patients were discharged. It needs mention here that 03 persons were found positive in Hailakandi on Thursday. Till date, 51 persons died due to Covid-19 in Hailakandi district. During the day, 1,345 persons were vaccinated in the district.

The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. However, the last 24 hours (5 PM on 5 August to 5 PM on 6 August) witnessed the death of 02 Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Friday evening. The deceased from Hailakandi identified as:

• Suma Roy (31) from Lala in Hailakandi district was admitted at SMCH also on 5 August. She died at 11.15 PM on 5 August, 2021.
