12 found Covid-19 Positive in Cachar on 11 October, 1 death at SMCH

Active cases 37 in Cachar, 6 discharged on Monday

Oct. 12: On Monday, a total of 12 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar district. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 37. Also, 01 patient was discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Saturday, 07 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

As per the updated data, a total of 1,654 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 06 persons were found positive, whereas 06 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 2,0,129 whereas during this phase, 19,878 patients were discharged.

Apart from this, the district authority informed that out of the 37 active patients:

14 of them are admitted at SMCH
06 at MH
01 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
00 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
16 patients are in home isolation.

The Covid-19 situation in Cachar is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 10 October to 5 PM on 11 October) witnessed the death of 01 more Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Monday evening. The deceased was identified as:

  • Abdul Kuddus Mazumder (75) from Borkhola Part I in Cachar district was admitted at SMCH on 29 September. The patient, however, breathed his last at 4.45 AM on 11 October.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 11 October, there were 17 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, 01 patient was put under ventilator support, and 04 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 04 Covid positive patient was admitted at SMCH and none of them was discharged.
