12 detected Covid +ve till 6 PM in Cachar on Wednesday, 36 discharged
Active cases 141 in Cachar
Aug 18: A total of 12 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 6 PM on Wednesday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 1,985 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done in which 10 persons were found positive, whereas only 12 persons were detected as positive in RT-PCR test. Also, 36 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged.
At present, there are 141 active cases in the district. It needs mention here that 28 persons were detected Covid-19 positive on Tuesday. Further, during the day, 654 persons were administered Covid vaccine in Cachar. With this, a total of 6,45,429 persons in the district were vaccinated as of now.
The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 17 August to 5 PM on 18 August) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Wednesday evening.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 18 August, there were 32 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 12 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 20 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 02 patients were put under ventilator support and 19 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 04 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 09 of them were discharged.
