116 tests +ve in Cachar on Sunday, cases likely to increase at night

August 23: On Sunday, 116 new positive cases were detected from across Cachar district. Out of the 116 positive cases, 86 were detected in Rapid Antigen Test (RAT), whereas, 30 persons tested positive in RT-PCR Test. Till Sunday evening test results of 2 slots of RT-PCR were declared. In the 1st slot, 10 persons were found positive and in the 2nd slot, 20 tested positive. This was informed by Suman Choudhury, District Media Expert.

In the 1st slot of RT-PCR Test Results, 10 persons were found positive in Cachar district on Sunday. Out of them, 4 persons exhibiting Influenza Like Illness (ILI) symptoms were detected positive. They are a 34-year-old male from Rangirkhari, 60-year-old female from Gandhinagar Road, Malugram, 46-year-old male & 25-year-old male from Masimpur Military Station. A 29-year-old female from Sunil Sarkar Lane in Rangirkhari was found positive. She came in direct contact with high risk lab confirmed case.

A doctor from Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH), Dr. Ahmed Zahid (30) was detected COVID-19 positive on Sunday. Further, 2 persons from Cachar Cancer Hospital & Research Centre also tested positive during the day. They are 20 years old female and a 25 years old female. Another 40 years old male from HHC Lane, Meherpur was found positive on Sunday.

In the 2nd slot of RT-PCR Test Results on Sunday, 20 persons were detected COVID-19 positive. A 1-day-old baby from Baskandi was found positive. The mother of the baby is also corona positive. In this slot, 10 persons were detected positive who came in direct contact with high risk lab confirmed cases. They are a 70-year-old female from Rangirkhari, 36-year-old male from Rangirkhari, 72-year-old male & 52-year-old from Tarani Road, 50-year-old female and 24-year-old female from Hospital Road, 55-year-old female from Rangirkhari, 22-year-old male from SM Road, Rangirkhari, 28-year-old male & 40-year-old female from SMCH.

Further, 8 more persons in the 2nd slot were detected positive on Sunday. However, their source of being infected with coronavirus was not mentioned in the SRF. They are 22-year-old female, 23-year-old female & 22-year-old female from CCHRC Meherpur, 39-year-old male from Chandranathpur, 58 years old male from Tarapur, 33-year-old male from Chowrangi Ambicapatty, 45 years old female from Kashipore Tea Estate and 35 years old female from Malugram.
