১০ নভেম্বরঃ কয়েক সেকেন্ডের ঝাঁকুনি টের পেলেন বরাক উপত্যকা ও তার কাছাকাছি এলাকার বাসিন্দারা। শনিবার রাত ১০টা ৪৬ মিনিটের এই ভূমিকম্পের তীব্রতা ছিল রিখটার স্কেলে ৫.৩। এর উতপত্তিস্থল ভারত-মায়ানমার সীমান্তে মিজোরামের চাম্পাই জেলায় ভূপৃষ্ঠের ২৪ কিলোমিটার গভীরে। কাছাড় জেলা দুর্যোগ মোকাবিলা শাখা জানিয়েছে, ওই জায়গার অক্ষাংশ-দ্রাঘিমাংশ ২৩.৯৯ ডিগ্রি উত্তর ও ৯৩.৯ডিগ্রি পূর্ব। এতে ভারতের এই অংশ ছাড়াও মায়ান্মার এবং বাংলাদেশেরও কিছু জায়গায় ঝাঁকুনি লেগেছে।

November 10: A mild earthquake lasting over a few seconds rocked Barak Valley and its adjoining areas at around 10.46 PM on Saturday night.The earthquake measuring 5.3 in the Richter scale is reported to have its epicentre in District Champai in Mizoram in the Indo-Myanmar border region.

The geographical location of the earthquake was at latitude of 23.99 degree North and longitude of 93.3 degree East. It originated at a depth of 24 kilometers from the surface level. As per initial reports, the quake seem to have jolted entire North Eastern region. The affected countries are India, Bangladesh and Myanmar. This is as per the report issued by District Disaster Management Authority, Cachar, Silchar.
