11 tests +ve in Cachar on Wednesday, tally reaches 10,832

Active cases 131 in Cachar

Nov. 25: On Wednesday, a total of 11 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 1668 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, 11 persons were found positive, whereas none were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Wednesday night.

With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 10,832. Further, a total of 10,664 patients were discharged in the district as of now. Cachar registered a total of 37 COVID-19 deaths till now. At present, there are 131 active cases in the district. It needs mention here that 12 persons were found positive in Cachar on Tuesday.

In his daily briefing, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) on Wednesday said that in the last 24 hours, Throat swab of another 192 persons were collected. 282 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, out of which, 03 tested positive. Further, 551 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done at SMCH in the last 24 hours, out of which, 00 were found positive.

Apart from this, 02 new patient of COVID-19 was admitted at SMCH in the last 24 hours and 01 of them were discharged. At present, there are 18 active patients at SMCH. The patients who are at present in critical condition are: Sukumari Teli, Molina Bhattacharjee and Rimpi Rani. A total of 12 patients are admitted in ICU, whereas 07 of them are put under oxygen support and 01 of them is kept in ventilator.

Dr. Gupta further informed that in the last 24 hours, none have died due to COVID-19 at SMCH. As of now, there were 173 COVID related deaths in SMCH. Of the 173 deaths, 63 of them were certified by the State Death Audit Board as COVID-19 confirmed deaths.
