1,067 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Thursday, 1,249 discharged & 17 deaths registered
There are 10,677 active Covid cases in Assam
Aug 5: On Thursday, out of 1,31,862 tests, 1,067 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 5,71,571. The positivity rate in the state is 0.81 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 202 positive cases during the day. Further, on Thursday, 17 more persons lost their lives in the state due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 5,343. The recovery rate is 96.96 percent.
It needs mention here that on Wednesday, 1,065 persons tested positive in Assam and 19 deaths were registered.
On Thursday, 1,249 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 5,54,204 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam. At present, there are 10,677 active cases in the state.

Further, during the day, 17 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19. Out of the 17 deceased, 03 are from Kamrup Metro; 02 each from Biswanath, Nalbari & Tinsukia; 01 each from Bongaigaon, Dhemaji, Dibrugarh, Goalpara, Jorhat, Kamrup Rural, Nagaon & Sonitpur. The death tally of the state now stands at 5,343.
