103 tests Covid-19 +ve in Cachar till 6 PM on Saturday

April 24: A total of 103 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 6 PM on Saturday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 79 persons were found positive in Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT), whereas 24 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Suman Choudhury, District Media Expert on Saturday evening.

It is for the first time in 2021 that the number of active cases detected in a day crossed the 100-mark and reached 103. It needs mention here that on Friday, the total positive cases in the district was 92.

Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) on Friday informed that 36 patients are presently admitted in the corona ward, out of which 26 patients are admitted in the ward, 10 in ICU, 3 are in ventilator support and 5 of them are put under oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 5 Covid patients were admitted at SMCH, 2 of them were discharged and 2 more went for home isolation voluntarily. However, no deaths were reported at SMCH in the last 24 hours.
