10 more die of COVID-19 in Assam, death toll rises to 492

Sept. 15: On Tuesday, 10 more persons succumbed to COVID-19 in Assam, thereby taking the death toll in the state to 492. In a tweet on Tuesday night, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Very sad & anguished to inform that 10 more COVID19 positive patients have succumbed to the disease. My condolences to all the families. We stand by you in this hour of grief.” The deceased were identified as:

• Gauri Gogoi (58) of Tinsukia
• Britendra Daimary (56) of Karbi Anglong
• Binayak Prasad Saraf (74), Bithi Sharma (78), Kamal Ranjan Dutta (78) & Jogeshwar Gogoi (52) of Kamrup Metro
• Jyotish Talukdar (50) of Barpeta
• Mahabir Prasad Sharma (60) of North Lakhimpur
• Chandra Prabha Das (73) & Eliza Begum (70) of Dibrugarh
