1 detected Covid +ve till 5 PM in Cachar on Tuesday, 1 death at SMCH
Oct. 12: A total of 01 new case of COVID-19 was reported till 5 PM on Tuesday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 685 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done in which 01 person was found positive, whereas till the filing of this report, RT-PCR test results were not made available. It needs mention here that 12 persons were detected Covid-19 positive on Monday.
The Covid-19 situation in Cachar is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 11 October to 5 PM on 12 October) witnessed the death of 01 more Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Tuesday evening. The deceased was identified as:
- Satyabrata Choudhury (65) from Damcherra in Cachar district was admitted at SMCH on 09 October. The patient, however, breathed his last at 9.30 AM on 12 October.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 12 October, there were 15 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, 01 patient was put under ventilator support, and 03 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 01 Covid positive patient was admitted at SMCH and 02 of them was discharged.
