1 dead in head on collision between car & auto at Mithapani near Assam University, 2 injured

Sept. 13: In a tragic incident, 1 person lost his life and 2 were seriously injured in a head-on collision between an Alto car and an auto-rickshaw on Sunday morning. The deceased was identified as Kailash Goala (25) from Allenpore near Borjalenga in Cachar. His brother Munna Goala and auto driver Ram Singh sustained major injuries in the accident. The injured were admitted at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH).

As per reports, the driver of the Alto took in his car the injured Kailash Goala (now deceased), Munna Goala and Ram Singh from the spot of the accident and left them near SMCH. He then fled away from the spot. Meanwhile, it came to the notice of the local people who then rescued the three injured persons from the abandoned Alto car and admitted them at SMCH.

The police was also informed. Police forces went to the spot of the accident at Mithapani, recovered the auto-rickshaw bearing No AS11 DC 6507 and also took along with them the Alto car (AS11E 7042) from near SMCH in their custody.

 Family sources of the deceased revealed that on Sunday morning Munna Goala came to SMCH along with his elder brother Kailash Goala (now deceased) for treatment purpose. The accident took place at Mithapani when they were returning back to their home near Borjalenga.
