1 Covid positive patient from Tarapur dies at Silchar Medical College on 4 May

May 4: In an alarming development, the number of deaths are increasing day by day in Assam. On Tuesday, the state registered 41 Covid deaths, the highest single day death toll in the state this year. At Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH), 01 more death of a Covid-19 patient from Cachar district was registered on Tuesday. This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Tuesday night. The deceased was identified as:

• Situ Roy (60) from Tarapur, Silchar was admitted at SMCH on 27 April, 2021. The patient breathed his last at 11 PM on 4 May, 2021.

As per protocol, the death details have been forwarded to the State Death Audit Board in Guwahati for final certification of Covid or non-Covid death.
