07 tests +ve in Cachar on Monday, tally reaches 10,818

Nov. 23: On Monday, a total of 07 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 1899 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, 06 persons were found positive, whereas 01 persons were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Monday night.

With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 10,818. Further, a total of 10,653 patients were discharged in the district as of now. Cachar registered a total of 37 COVID-19 deaths till now. At present, there are 128 active cases in the district. It needs mention here that 20 persons were found positive in Cachar on Sunday.

In his daily briefing, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) on Monday said that in the last 24 hours, Throat swab of another 101 persons were collected. 155 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, out of which, 08 tested positive. Further, 717 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done at SMCH in the last 24 hours, out of which, none were found positive.

Apart from this, 01 new patients of COVID-19 were admitted at SMCH in the last 24 hours and none were discharged. At present, there are 17 active patients at SMCH, out of which, 06 of them are critical. The patients who are at present in critical condition are: Sukumari Teli, Aparna Chanda, Ainuddin Choudhury, Molina Bhattacharjee, Rimpi Rani and Rina Rani Barbhuiya. A total of 10 patients are admitted in ICU, whereas 2 of them are put under oxygen support.

Dr. Gupta further informed that in the last 24 hours, none have died due to COVID-19 at SMCH. As of now, there were 173 COVID related deaths in SMCH. Of the 173 deaths, 63 of them were certified by the State Death Audit Board as COVID-19 confirmed deaths.
