₹25 lakh each sanctioned to 3 colleges & Football Academy from Untied Fund of MP Dr Rajdeep Roy

March 26: In order to help the higher academic institutions to develop their infrastructure, Silchar MP Dr Rajdeep Roy has stood besides them. An amount of Rs. 1 crore was sanctioned from the Untied Fund of MP Dr Rajdeep Roy for the financial year 2021-22. The Financial Sanction was accorded by Paban Kr Borthakur, Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Assam on 22 March, 2022. The amount was equally distributed among 3 colleges and Silchar Football Academy for infrastructural development.

The amount of Rs. 1 crore from the Untied Fund of Silchar MP was equally distributed among four beneficiaries of his constituency. These are:

  • Rs. 25 lakh for construction of auditorium at Cachar College, Silchar.
  • Rs. 25 lakh as matching grant for Women’s Hostel at Radhamadhab College, Silchar
  • Rs. 25 lakh for development of academic block at Jagannath Singh Degree College, Udharbond
  • Rs. 25 lakh for installation of artificial football turf at Silchar Football Academy. 

Speaking to way2barak, MP Dr Rajdeep Roy said, “Education is one such which needs to be nourished so that the future citizens are trained in a proper way. Keeping this aspect in mind, out of the Rs. 1 crore sanctioned from my Untied Fund, I have allocated Rs.25 lakh each to three colleges of my constituency for infrastructural development so that the students can study in an environmental which is congenial to their growth and development. I will try to stand besides the other educational institutions of my constituency in the near future. Further an amount of Rs.25 lakh from my Untied Fund was also allocated for installation of artificial football turf at Silchar Football Academy. I hope this would help the academy to develop their infrastructure.”

As per the sanction letter, the works are to be completed by the beneficiaries within the estimated cost in all respect without involving cost and time over run. It was further stated that the utilisation certificates are to be submitted in due course after utilisation of the fund immediately.
