প্রকাশিত হল উইমেন্স কলেজের নিউজলেটার ‘দ্য ট্রান্সক্রিপ্ট’

বুধবার প্রিন্সিপাল ডঃ সুজিত তেওয়ারি আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে নিউজলেটারটি উন্মোচন করেন।  সঙ্গে ছিলেন ভাইস প্রিন্সিপাল ডঃ শান্তনু দাস, ইতিহাস বিভাগের প্রধান ও নিউজলেটারের সম্পাদক ডঃ সংঘমিত্রা জহরি, গ্রন্থাগারিক ও আইকিউএসি-র কো-অর্ডিনেটর ডঃ সরিতা ভট্টাচার্য।

ডঃ তেওয়ারি তাঁর বক্তব্যে বিভাগের উদ্যোগের ভূয়সী প্রশংসা করেন এবং নিউজলেটারটি ছাত্রীদের কর্মকাণ্ডের এক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ দলিল বলে আখ্যা দেন।

‘দ্য ট্রান্সক্রিপ্ট’-এর মাধ্যমে বিভাগের বিভিন্ন কর্মকাণ্ড, সাফল্য এবং পথচলার গল্প ফুটে উঠেছে। বিশেষ আকর্ষণ হিসেবে নিউজলেটারটিতে রয়েছে একটি ‘অ্যালুমনি স্পিকস’ বিভাগ, যেখানে কলেজের প্রাক্তন ছাত্রীরা তাদের স্মৃতিচারণা তুলে ধরেছেন।

এই বিশেষ মুহূর্তে আনন্দ প্রকাশ করে ডঃ জাহারি বলেন, “এই নিউজলেটার শুধুমাত্র একটি প্রকাশনা নয়, এটি আমাদের ইতিহাস বিভাগের আত্মার প্রতিচ্ছবি। প্রতিবছর এটি প্রকাশ করার মধ্য দিয়ে আমরা কলেজের গৌরবময় ঐতিহ্যকে আরও শক্তিশালী করতে চাই।”

অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন কলেজের বরিষ্ঠ অধ্যাপক ডঃ সর্বাণী বিশ্বাস (বাংলা বিভাগ) ও নমিতা সিংহ (মণিপুরি বিভাগ)।

উল্লেখ্য, এই প্রকাশনা নতুন প্রজন্মকে অনুপ্রাণিত করবে এবং ইতিহাসকে নতুন দৃষ্টিভঙ্গিতে দেখার সাহস জোগাবে বলে সকলে আশা ব্যক্ত করেন।

way2barak, June 27 : The Department of History, Women’s College Silchar released its first newsletter ” The Transcript” (issue 1,2024-25) on June 26,2025.

Dr Sujit Tewari, Principal of the college unveiled the newsletter in the presence of Dr Santanu Das, Vice Principal of the college alongside Dr Sanghamitra Jahari, HoD Department of History, Dr Sarita Bhattacharjee, Librarian and Coordinator of Internal Quality Assurance Cell, IQAC.

Dr Tewari appreciated the efforts of the Department and termed the newsletter as a vital document that echoes the efforts of the students of the department.

Edited by Dr Jahari, the newsletter showcases the department’s journey, achievements and activities. It also includes a specific ” Alumni Speaks” section for the former students to share their experiences.

“This is a wonderful initiative for students to excel in their creative thinking and express their ideas. The newsletter is an impressive work by the Department of History and I congratulate the students and also the Head of the Department,” Dr Tewari said.

Sharing her happiness, Dr Jahari said that the Department will continue to publish the newsletter annually to uphold the rich tradition of the college.

Senior most faculty of the college Dr Sarbani Biswas from the Department of Bengali and Namita Singha from the Department of Manipuri attended the event.
