NFRSA Dominates 1st Inter Academy/School BasketballChampionship  

way2barak, 30^th May : The 1^st All Guwahati Inter Academy/School Basketball Prize Money Tournament, organized by Northeast Frontier Railway Sports Association (NFRSA), was successfully held from 27^th to 29^thMay, 2025 in Guwahati. The tournament brought together some of the finest young basketball talents from across the city, with a total of 230 players (both boys & girls) participating in four different categories: Under-14 Boys (4 teams), Under-14 Girls (4 teams), Under-17 Boys (6 teams) and Under-17 Girls (5 teams). A total of 38 matches were played in a Round-Robin league format, making the event a highly competitive and action-packed affair.

In the Under-14 category, NFRSA dominated the court by winning both the Boys’ and Girls’ titles, while HBCC emerged as the runner-up in both categories. In the Under-17 Boys’ category, NFRSA continued its winning streak by claiming the championship, with K.V. Narengi finishing as runner-up. In the Under-17 Girls’ category, NFRSA was again crowned champion, with HBCC securing the runner-up position.

NFRSA congratulates all participating teams for their enthusiasm, dedication and exceptional sportsmanship. A special mention goes to NFRSA Basketball team for their outstanding performance, winning all four championship titles. The tournament marks a significant milestone in promoting grassroots basketball in Guwahati and highlights the growing talent among school and academy-level players.
