৯ এপ্রিল: করোনায় আক্রান্ত ফয়জুল হক বড়ভুইয়ার অবস্থা অবনতির দিকে, টুইট করে বিকালে জানিয়েছিলেন স্বাস্থ্যমন্ত্রী হিমন্ত বিশ্ব শর্মা৷ সন্ধ্যায় হাইলাকান্দি জনসংযোগ জানিয়েছে, অবস্থা আশঙ্কাজনক৷ তাঁর নিউমোনিয়া হয়ে যাওয়ায় স্বাস্থ্যের ক্রমাবনতি ঘটছে৷

এই খবরে বিশেষ সতর্ক হয়ে উঠেছে হাইলাকান্দি জেলা প্রশাসন৷ জনসংযোগের বার্তায় জানানো হয়েছে, উমরাহ হজ সেরে বাড়ি ফেরার পর তিনি যাদের সংস্পর্শে গিয়েছিলেন, এমন ৩৫ জনকে শনাক্ত করা হয়েছে৷ তাদের প্রতি নজর রাখা হচ্ছে৷  এ ছাড়া, তাঁর পরিবারের পাঁচ সদস্যকে সরকারি কোয়রান্টাইনে রাখা হয়েছে৷ সকলের লালারস সংগ্রহ করে শিলচর মেডিক্যাল কলেজের পরীক্ষাকেন্দ্রে পাঠানো হয়েছে৷ রিপোর্ট এখনও আসেনি৷

তাঁর বাড়িকে কেন্দ্র করে এক কিলোমিটার ব্যাসার্ধ এলাকাকে নিভৃতবাস এলাকা হিসেবে ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে৷  কোনও ব্যক্তি ওই এলাকা থেকে বেরোতে পারবেন না৷ কেউ সেখানে ঢুকতেও পারবেন না৷  গাড়ি-রিকশার চলাচল পুরো নিষিদ্ধ করা হয়েছে৷ ওই এলাকার ভেতরে থাকা দেড় হাজার মানুষ জরুরি প্রয়োজনে পুলিশ বা সংশ্লিষ্ট সরকারি কর্তাকে জানাবেন৷ জনসংযোগের প্রেসবার্তায় জানানো হয়েছে, আলগাপুর থানাধীন পুরো বড়জুরাই এলাকাকে স্যানিটাইজ করা হয়েছে৷ ফয়জুলের বাড়ি সংলগ্ন একশো মিটার এলাকায় নিজেদের গাড়ি দিযে সেই কাজ করেছে দমকলবাহিনী৷

April 9: The condition of Hailakandi’s COVID-19 positive person Foijul Hoque Borbhuiya is stated to be serious. Health authorities here said Borbhuiya, who was taken from the Borjurai village near Hailakandi town to the Silchar Medical College and Hospital following his swab sample tested positive on Tuesday night, developed pneumonia and his condition deteriorated. He has been shifted to ICU in the afternoon on Thursday. Borbhuiya had returned to Hailakandi on March 18 after coming from Saudi Arabia and Markaz, Nizamuddin in Delhi. His swab sample was sent to SMC&H on April 5 and tested positive on April 7. Borbhuiya and his family were under home quarantine.

Meanwhile, IDSP team shifted the five members of Borbhuiya’s family to a quarantine centre here. Swab samples have been sent to Silchar Medical College and Hospital the results of which are awaited. The entire village having a one km radius with a population of over 1,500 has been declared a containment zone with entry and exit of people and vehicles prohibited barring essential and emergency services. Door-to-door surveillance is going on in the containment zone and contact tracing of persons with whom the COVID-19 infected person came in contact with is on. 35 persons have been identified so far.

Sanitisation of Borjurai village is being carried out by Fire and Emergency Services around the house of the infected person, approach road and 100m surrounding area. The district police arrested Sucharita Nath, a lady working in a gas agency, for posting an inflammatory post on Facebook on Thursday. A case no.167/2020 was registered against her by Lala Police Station. She was interrogated and released on a PR bond and asked to appear again after a week.

The district administration has provided hand sanitisers and masks to the front line workers keeping in mind their health and safety. The protective items were distributed amongst the CRPF, CISF, Assam Police personnel and media persons. Surprise raids were conducted by Circle Officer attached to Lala, Ruthi A with police team in some brick kilns in the early hours on Thursday. The team interacted with labourers to ascertain whether all ration provisions are being supplied and talked to the brick kiln owners to adhere strictly to the rules and regulations during the lockdown period. As a humanitarian gesture during the unprecedented times, the district police extended a helping hand to the needy persons, wage earners and drivers by providing them essential items.
