Sushmita expresses doubt about intention of BJP on Citizenship Bill

১০ ডিসেম্বরঃ সংসদের শীতকালীন অধিবেশনে কেন নাগরিকত্ব বিষয়ক সংশোধনী বিলটি আলোচনার জন্য রাখা হয়নি, তা বোধগম্য হচ্ছে না শিলচরের কংগ্রেস সাংসদ সুস্মিতা দেবের। তিনি বলেন, বুঝলাম না কেন, একে তালিকায় রাখা হয়নি।

যৌথ সংসদীয় কমিটি আগেই জানিয়ে দিয়েছে, অধিবেশন চলাকালে রিপোর্ট পেশ করা হবে। এর পর একে তালিকাভুক্ত না করার কোনও যুক্তি নেই। সুস্মিতা দেব নাগরিকত্ব ইস্যুতে বিজেপি সরকারের আন্তরিকতা নিয়েই প্রশ্ন তোলেন তিনি।

December 10: Silchar MP Sushmita Dev was baffled by the issue of exclusion of Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 from the list of Bills to be tabled during the Winter Session of the Parliament beginning on 11 December. She said, “I am unable to understand the intent of the government in this regard.”

The Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) formed for this purpose already informed that the report will be submitted while the winter session is in progress. There seems to be no reason why even after that declaration the Bill was not included in the list to be tabled during the Winter session. Sushmita Dev expressed doubt regarding the intention of the government in introducing and passing the much hyped Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.
