লোকসংহতি দিবসে কালিকাপ্রসাদেরই গান বাজবে সরকারি মাইকে
Remembering folk singer Kalika Prasad Bhattacharjee on his 50th birth anniversary

১০ সেপ্টেম্বরঃ এ বারও ১১ সেপ্টেম্বর কালিকাপ্রসাদ ভট্টাচার্যের জন্মদিন লোকসংহতি দিবস হিসাবে পালিত হবে। গত বছর সরকারি-বেসরকারি উদ্যোগে নানা অনুষ্ঠান হলেও এই বার করোনা আবহের দরুন কোনও সাংস্কৃতিক কর্মসূচি গ্রহণ করা যায়নি। তবে সরকারি উদ্যোগে এই দিনে কালিকাপ্রসাদের গান শোনানো হবে।

জনসংযোগ বিভাগের শিলচর আঞ্চলিক কার্যালয় সূত্রে জানা গিয়েছে, ভোরবেলা বিভাগীয় শিল্পী ও কর্মচারীরা কালিকাপ্রসাদের প্রতিকৃতিতে ফুল দিয়ে শ্রদ্ধার্ঘ্য নিবেদন করবেন। কালিকাপ্রসাদের নির্বাচিত গানগুলি সকাল এবং সন্ধ্যার সময় জনসংযোগ বিভাগের স্থায়ী মাইকযোগে প্রচার করা হবে। ডিডিআইপিআর-এর সাংস্কৃতিক শাখার শিল্পীরা শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদনের চিহ্ন হিসাবে তাঁর জনপ্রিয় গানগুলি উপস্থাপন করবেন।
কালিকাপ্রসাদ ভট্টাচার্য শিলচরে জন্মগ্রহণ করেছিলেন, বেড়ে উঠেছিলেন। উচ্চতর পড়াশুনার জন্য পরে কলকাতায় গিয়েছিলেন। সেখানেই গানের দল ‘দোহার’ শুরু করেন। কালিকাপ্রসাদ ছিলেন একজন গায়ক, সুরকার এবং অসমের বরাক উপত্যকার লোকগানের গবেষক।
২০১৭ সালের ৭ মার্চ এক সড়ক দুর্ঘটনায় তিনি প্রাণ হারান৷ সেই বছর থেকে আসামের সাংস্কৃতিক পরিক্রমা বিভাগ তাঁর জন্মদিনকে লোক সংহতি দিবস হিসাবে পালন করছে।

নৃত্যশিল্পী সৌমিত্রশঙ্কর চৌধুরীর আবেদনে সাড়া দিয়ে সাংস্কৃতিক সচিব প্রীতম শইকিয়া এ বারও এ ব্যাপারে উপযুক্ত ব্যবস্থা নিতে জনসংযোগ সঞ্চালককে নির্দেশ দিয়েছিলেন। তারই প্রেক্ষিতে সরকারি মাইকে শুক্রবার কালিকাপ্রসাদের গান বাজানোর সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়েছে।

Sept.10: Commemorating the 5Oth birth anniversary of renowned folk singer Kalika Prasad Bhattacharjee as Loko Songhoti Divas, the Office of Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations here will observe the day in a befitting manner on Friday. Floral tributes will be paid at the portrait of the eminent artiste by the artistes and employees of DDIPR in the morning hours.

As part of the programme, selected songs of Bhattacharjee will be relayed over the fixed loud speakers in the morning and evening hours. Artistes of the cultural wing of DDIPR will render popular songs of the noted artiste as a mark of tribute. Bhattacharjee was born and brought up in Silchar. For higher studies, he went to Kolkata. He started his musical group ‘Dohar’. Bhattacharjee was a singer, composer and a researcher of folk songs of Barak Valley of Assam as well as Bengal all rolled into one.

The eventful career of the noted artiste was cut short when he lost his life in a road accident on March 7, 2017. From that year, Cultural Affairs Department, Government of Assam is observing his birthday as Loko Songhoti Divas.
